Labs Edge Smooth

This tool will smooth the specified input edge groups and relax the surrounding points. It can often be used together with Cluster SOP or Labs Random Selection SOP to create stylized models or FX patterns.

Edge Smooth SOP can help you quickly create styled models with strong edges.

When used together with Labs Random Selection SOP (Periodic - Random Intervals), Edge Smooth SOP can generate beautiful geometry patterns that can baked out as FX textures.

Edge Smooth SOP can also let you create hand-drawn style 2D curves by first drawing on a dense grid.

After Edge Smooth SOP, Dissolve SOP, and Hole SOP, the dense grid representation of the shapes is turned into a clean curve representation.
